“Jo khud apni kahani likhe woh hi hai #FanneyKhan…

The teaser of Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Fanney Khan is out. Recently, the makers had also revealed the first poster of the film which featured Anil showing his back to the viewers with the Pictures of late Bollywood legends Shammi Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi peeping from the shoulders of Kapoor .  In the poster, Anil also appeared to be an aspirational singer as he carried a lunchbox in one hand and a trumpet in another.

The teaser opens to a silhouette of Kapoor posing on the stage with the spotlight on him, whilst the crowd cheers for him. Soon you hear a voice over by Rajkummar, who explains the true meaning of Fanney Khan. Meanwhile, we catch a fleeting glimpse of the ever-gorgeous Aishwarya Rai in her rockstar avatar. Towards the end of the teaser, Anil, who plays a taxi-driver in the movie is seen blowing a trumpet while sitting on his terrace.

He seemed to be a contestant of a singing reality show titled Taal-n-Talent.

Fanney Khan is an official remake of 73rd Academy Awards nominee Belgian film Everybody’s Famous! which was written, produced and directed by Dominique Deruddere. The satirical comedy film released in the year 2000, The original film is about a father who wants to fulfill his daughter’s dreams of becoming a singing sensation. He manages to kidnap the country’s reigning superstar just so his daughter can get famous in exchange. The trailer of this 2000 film is hilarious but we’re yet to know if Fanney Khan will be treated along the same lines.


Fanney Khan revolves around a struggling singer who wants to make a name for himself in the world of music.

Fanney Khan has a stellar line-up of ctors including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Divya Dutta. If reports are to believed, Aishwarya plays the role of a music sensation and Rajkummar is her love interest. Directed by Atul Manjrekar and co-produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and T-Series, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 3.
